Husqvarna 48 inch Riding Mower Mulching Kit Jul 14, 2011

This kit is a BARGAIN at $39.99 (super saver shipping = free) when compared to brick & mortar stores (or other online sites) at $49.99 and up. It's made by Electrolux and has adapter hardware (nuts, spacers, bolts) included. I ordered it for a Husqvarna 48-inch riding mower and the kit included all mounting bolts, mulching blades, cover plate, and instructions for step-by-step mounting plus pictures. Except for the spacer bolt assembly (not needed), everything went on easily. The cover plate is notched for securing it to the mower platform and all items fit exactly. Overall assembly takes about 10 minutes for the cover assembly, and approximately 15-20 minutes for removal of the three (3) original blades and attaching the mulching blades, depending on your degree of handiness. I'd recommend either dropping the mower deck for blade assembly or suspending the machine using drive-up ramps (my preference). Good job Amazon.com for a fine product at a terrific price!!

I own a Craftsman 48" Lawn Tractor (model 917.27670). The Sears mulching kit for this mower is item #07124148000. After some research on the internet, I had a hunch that they are the same. When the Husqvarna 954040495 arrived and the owners manual said that it was for model Non MK48A & 241480, I was relieved. This is the exact part that you can buy from Sears for $69.99! Everything fit like a glove. The Sears item shows a picture of a strap which this does not have. The strap is not needed as this item installs beautifully and is almost half price.

I was looking at the same product at lowes checked amazon and it was priced $10 less and didn't have to drive the 60 mile round trip to the store.I ordered it and was very suprised how easy it was to install also impressed with how the cover that came with it fits perfect over the discharge opening of the deck.

This Mulching Kit was the best price I found on the net and was very easy to install. This has been a life saver for me as the bagging of the 3/4's of an acre yard was taking forever to mow. I highly recommend this mulching kit.
