I love my Olfa Silver! Feb 08, 2008
By NYer I bought my first Olfa Silver snap blade razor over 15 years ago. I love it! It has seen me though countless moves and is none the worse for wear. The blades are super sharp and when they finally wear out, just break off another segment.
Where else can you find a $10 product that exudes such quality? Hold it in your hand -- it feels solid, as if milled from a solid piece of metal. The fit and finish are first rate. The plastic blade holder clicks with authority. And the name - "Olfa Silver" - what could be better than that?

Simple, elegant, practical Dec 22, 2010
By Avid Rita The perfect all-purpose blade, for arts and crafts, for slicing cardboard boxes, for my home toolbox. So easy to extend or retract with the slightest shift of a thumb, and slips into the pocket without bulk, and without worry of an accidental cut. Always a sharp edge right there, and when you've finally gone through all the snap off edges, the replacements are easy and cheap. I still have my faithful exacto knife when I need to get in with that point, but use this Olfa even more for ...everything.
Great for the price. Dec 15, 2011
By brh If I were paying full retail price on this product (which, actually, I did unfortunately), I would not give it five stars. I've written a much more extensive review on the SVR-2, which is very similar, except that it locks which this knife does not. Moderate pressure will send the blade back inside the carrier, making it useful for some tasks... Less so for others. But, for the price this gets offered at, a great knife to keep around. The stainless blades that come with these are alright, the carbon steel blades Olfa sells are much nicer. But still, you can't go wrong at this price unless you're doing a lot of heavy-handed tasks. Brilliantly simple design, very sturdy, very easy to change blades and break off tips. A very smart product.
Reliable Utility Knife! May 31, 2011
By Lady Book I have used this type of utility knife for a very long time. As a graphic artist or doing some artwork this is a tool that you should always have, it comes very handy and very stable, doesn't wabble, safe for use. I lost my old one which is exactly the same model and I am getting the same one because I loved using it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for something to use as an art utility knife. Plus the price was a good deal for me and the shipping was fast, got it on time.
Great Knife! Dec 06, 2008
By M. Colette My husband has different types of knives for his work as a mechanic. Why? I'm not sure but I suppose that he needs to be up on all the latest box-opening mechanisms. This one is very sturdy!!
