Great product for homeowner Jul 24, 2010 Bought this product, fast shipping,Took unit ot of box all you have to do is install grass shield very easy, Mix your fuel(1 gallon) 40:1 as a bottle of 2 cycle oil comes with it,gas and go,started 2nd pull and runs perfect! It is not a commercial unit ,but if you treat it with some respect and care and keep your oil mix proper and fresh fuel you will maintain a good product with minimal maint.that will be reliable and productive for a long time.

Not worth my time. Jun 22, 2010 First let me say I have owned many two cycle tools over the years and I am well versed in fuel mixing, etc. I also owned a Poulan chainsaw and a line trimmer that I was quite happy with. I typically get about 600 hours of service, with regular maintenance, out of an engine before it goes to the shop or the dump.
Pros: lite weight, fully assembled in the box, very easy touch and go string adjustment.
Cons: short shaft, odd assist handle placement, starting procedures are very substandard with today's technology.
I nearly returned the unit when I read starting instructions similar to my old 1950's engines, but I soldiered on anyway.
For the record, you pump the gas six times, set the choke, squeeze the throttle pull starter 6 times (play with the choke during these six pulls trying to coax it to life) If it doesn't start, change the choke setting, pump six times, squeeze the throttle, pull the rope two times. If it doesn't start, reset the choke, pull six more times. If it still doesn't start, then you flooded it. So now you let off the choke, and the throttle, pull the cord long enough to contemplate buying a goat to eat the weeds, then go back to step one, or resolve not to buy another cheap trimmer.
If you run out of gas while using the trimmer go back to step one!!!!
Did you get tired reading the starting instructions? Imagine how your going to feel 15 minutes into your 20 minute weed eating job and you just now got the engine running!

Great Trimmer for the Price Jun 08, 2010 I debated for a while on whether to go gor a cheaper trimmer or go ahead and spend extra for a quality trimmer. Since my last trimmer lasted me 12 years, I figured I could afford to go cheap this time. I have a Poulan lawn mower and really like it. Then I found out that this trimmer is actually made by Husqvarna, so I thought I couldn't go wrong since they are a quality brand anyway. The P2500 is just what I was looking for. The straight shaft is much more comfortable to use than my previous curved shaft trimmmer. It starts right up, it only takes a light tap to feed the string, and the spool pops off easily and is simple to restring. It easily handled the weeds in my ditch. My only complaint is that it could use some foam around the handles to make it a little more comfortable, but I can take care of that given that I didn't spend that much on it to begin with.

Good machine but a little heavy compared to Weedeater! Apr 14, 2010 Although I am satisfied with this machine, when I first tried to use it I couldn't get it to run properly except upside down. Go figure! I checked for authorized repair shops in my area and took it to one. The repair man told me that the warranty did not cover adjusting the carborater. He said that it would cost me the minimum $17.50. After discussing the uslessness of the warranty he finally did the adjustment free as a favor to me. So far it has served me well(keeping my fingers crossed)I've only used it a couple of times since having the adjustment done.
I guess the fact that it is a little heaver than the Weedeater I had before is the only complaint I have now.

WORTH THE MONEY Apr 13, 2010 I DO NOT REGRET ORDERING THIS WEED TRIMMER! BEFORE ORDERING IT THE OTHER DAY I READ THE REVIEWS AND DECIDED TO STILL GIVE THIS PRODUCT A SHOT CONSIDERING THE FEW NEGATIVE REVIEWS CONCERNING THE BROKEN CHOKE.
I RECIEVED THIS PRODUCT IN THE MAIL TODAY AND I OPENED IT TO FIND THAT IT WAS IN GOOD CONDITION WITH OUT A BROKEN CHOKE. LIKE THE OTHERS I PUT IT TOGETHER WITCH WAS JUST A LITTLE SIMPLE ADJUSTMENTS AND INSTALLING THE GRASS GUARD. I THEN ADDED GAS AND USED IT FOR A FEW MINUTES TO TEST IT OUT. THE WEED TRIMMER PERFORMED JUST FINE.
