I love this thing! Jun 12, 2008
By Lydia Kagen This is my first weed trimmer, and want to know, where have these been all my life? I have a big yard and knew I needed a cordless. The Remington set up in a few minutes, this is my first weed trimmer so it took a while to figure out what a "bump" was, but assembly was pretty easy. The battery lasts a long, long time. After charging overnight, I was in the yard cutting for about a full hour off and on, it never did run out, but just started getting slow. I think this thing is amazing and it cut thick weeds, trimmed, edged, and I actually had fun doing what used to be a chore. So one charge can last long enough for my big yard. This can even replace my lawn mower in some hard to reach spots. It's very light weight, as I am a 5'2" grandma and did not get tired holding it. Best investment in a tool I've made in a long time.

Just Buy It - Great Trimmer ! Jul 12, 2008
By Mike in Chicago The battery lasts forever.
Its a solid feel and metal shaft.
Very light weight.
Charger has LED indicator and turns off when fully charged.
With this battery you only need one, not TWO.
Just because there are so few reviews here, don't pay any attention to that. I'm a mechanical engineer and major DIY with high quality homeowner products: Makita power tools, Dewalt, etc. Trust me. I've also owned BD products and several were garbage.
HOWEVER, This my friends is a good product. (I also recently bought the Remington Hedge trimmer. Corded. Also excellent product. Cuts 3/4" branches. A little heavy but cuts bushes like hot knife thru butter.)
These Reminton products have been a pleasant surprise. Just DEW it !

very solid cordless tool Oct 07, 2008
By D. Cepulis Pros:
I've owned and operated this item for about 1 month now, doing light trimming around my yard.
Solidly designed and put together. Does not feel cheap. Lightweight and very adjustable so it is comfortable to operate. Easy to assemble, takes about 5 minutes max of initial assembly to be ready to go.
Cons: Battery only seems to last about 20 - 25 minutes per charge. It would be nice if it was longer.

Worked well at first... Sep 11, 2010

I don't understand why Amazon is still selling this item. The company that manufactured them has gone bankrupt and MTD, who took over, has very limited parts available should anything break. I've had mine for two years and unfortunately the spool cover that snaps over the bump head assembly has broken. There is no place to get another. So now I have a practically new trimmer that I can't use because there is nothing to hold the line spool in place. I loved this thing when I first got it, but now it's completely useless. Pathetic.

Edger not especially easy to use. Handle broke off with relatively little use. String was bad and had to be replaced on arrival. I somehow managed to lose the charger and have had no luck finding a replacement.
