Superb Quality and Reliable Aug 01, 2008
By New England Yankee This Swisher-branded tool is the private label version of the standard Shindaiwa multi-tool head. Shindaiwa makes the best commercial trimmers and brushcutters, period. Nothing against other excellent brands, like Stihl (which I also own) and Echo, but in this tool category, Shindaiwa is better. I've owned the Shindaiwa-branded version for 5 years, and it has been dead reliable. The Swisher version appears to be identical. Every part is top-quality. The engine starts quickly and easily, even after storage, it warms up quickly, and it accelerates quickly. The takedown mechanism is very solid - there is no play whatsoever when it is fastened.
The Swisher version, and the Swisher-branded attachments for the head, sell for less than the Shindaiwa versions, too. Highly recommended.

multi-tool Sep 07, 2009
By Mark Hamilton I have only had the machine a short time but it seems to be very well made. It starts and run perfectly and has more than enough power for the attachment I have.

What a great product! Apr 27, 2012
By Soundbarrier4900 Long story short this unit has plenty of power which allows you to complete tasks in record time. It is easy to start and it takes a minute or two to warm up but overall I am very happy with this purchase.
Short story long I purchased a John Deere S1400 multi-tool trimmer from Home Depot in 2000. This unit lasted me 8 years and during that time they stopped manufacturing it. So after 8 years of me abusing this unit I was now forced to find another. I ended up going with a Husqvarna LD-128 multi-tool and was disappointed with the unit but as my lawn and edging were well established I was able to get by with it however if I would try to use it to cut in a new edge on an overgrown sidewalk it would bog down to a complete stop. So I went to Home Depot and purchased a Echo with its edger attachment at a cost of about $300. This unit was better but still proved to be inadequate for my requirements so I returned it the same day I purchased it. Then the research started. After looking at Stihl, Redmax, Hitachi, etc. I ran into Shindawia which then lead me to Swisher (Their residential/prosumer line) and after more extensive research I found that the Shindawia M254 at a list price of $329.99 was identical to the Swisher E4-U3000 at a Amazon price of $178.99 and the only difference are the stickers that on on it. This unit well worth the money and you truly get what you pay for.

Does The Job! Nov 12, 2011
By Superjack I bought the Swisher E4-U3000 Multi-Tool along with the Swisher E4-U3002 pruner attachment recently . I have never owned any Swisher power tools before but I do own Shindaiwa gas powered weed trimmers which have never failed me . I'm not sure about any partnership between the 2 companies but besides the Swisher stickers on the tool, all the components including the motor seem to be Shindaiwa parts. It started right up easily and efficiently did everything I expected the tool to do when I needed to trim tree branches that were out of reach for my chainsaw . I am very pleased that I bought this tool and purchasing it online saved me more than a $100 bucks than buying the Shindaiwa branded multi-tool at my local hardware store. I am now looking to buy more attachments and am curious to know what other brands attachments may fit this Swisher multi-tool model .

high quality at lower cost Jun 09, 2010
By MV We used to own a landscaping business and bought all this stuff through middle dealers. Our old Shindaiwa was excellent and when is broke down and was going to be too much to fix we started shopping for a new one. This new powertool end is fabulous, very light and very powerful. It fits all our old tool ends, and works great. We are extremely pleased and saved over $100.00 by buying it on Amazon!!
