Had this weedeater for a year and a half now and it still starts on the first pull every time. The pre-cut string head is great.. no more bump-and-bind frustration. I have a large yard and it takes me about 2 hours to do all my weedeating/trimming. Also, having a straight shaft is nice as I am 6'3" tall and no issues using this thing.

I RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS TANAKA 225S TRIMMER AND I COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED OR EXCITED ABOUT THIS TRIMMER. HAVING HAD A McCULLOUGH EAGER BEAVER FOR APPROX 10 YEARS IT FINALLY GAVE UP. HAVING LOOKED FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS ON THE CURRENT PRODUCT LINE FOR ECHO, HUSKY, AND STIHL, I FINALLY DECIDED ON THE TANAKA, DUE IN A LARGE PART, OF THE FEEDBACK FOR THE PARTICULAR MODELS. WITH A 10 OUT OF 10 POSITIVE RESPONSES, I WENT FOR THE 225S, WITH THE 4" HEAD TRIMMER. ALTHOUGH IT WAS RECEIVED WITH THE SHROUD AND ENGINE HOUSINGS CRACKED DURING SHIPMENT, I USED IT ANYWAY. I QUICKLY NOTICED THE LOW EXHAUST TONE, LIGHT WEIGHT AND EASE OF USE. I WAS PLEASED WITH ITS PERFORMANCE AND NO WEED-WRAP ON THE BUSINESS END. HAVING CONTACT WITH AMAZON, I WAS INSTRUCTED TO REPLACE THE BROKEN PIECES AND SEND THE BILL TO AMAZON. I CONTACTED CHRIS AT TANAKA, EXPLAINED THE SITUATION AND RECEIVED THE REPLACEMENT PARTS IN THE MAIL. TANAKA IS A GREAT COMPANY WITH A GREAT PRODUCT!!!. YOU WILL NOT GO WRONG WITH THIS EQUIPMENT. IT IS A GREAT TRIMMER WITHOUT FAIL!!

The last trimmer you'll have to buy! Feb 08, 2009
It costs more but is well worth the price. Powerful little motor hums happily, well balanced tool is a pleasure to use requiring less effort with superior results to average trimmers. Excellent reputation and warranty. I highly recommend this trimmer.

Great String Trimmer Feb 07, 2009
This is a great string trimmer. I owned a Shindowa commercial model for years and pasted it down to my son. This model is just as good and easy to use as my old one. Starts easy, and is very easy to replace the string but you need to carry exta string with you when you use it so you dont have to stop and go back to the garage to reload it.
Excellent value.
Made outside USA, too bad we can not produce this kind of products in the USA at a competitive price.

Excellent trimmer for the money. Lightweight and very simple to install new string. That's the best part. Would recommend this trimmer.
