Good Power, Cheap String Aug 09, 2008
By Kevin Wambsganz Used the Trimmer a couple times now.
As a Trimmer it worked fine, no problems. When I changed it to an edger, the string in the trimmer would not stay feed out. The string kept getting cut down. Its cheap. So, I replaced the string with a commerical grade string that is thicker and now it works OK. If you use a thicker string, you might need to drill a bigger hole in the reel string hole.
The instructions are not that great, but you should be able to figure out how to use it. I could not find anyone who sells this locally, so I purchase from Amazon.

Awkward and heavy Jun 04, 2008

I got it on Friday, just in time for working in the yard over the weekend. When I first removed it from the box I noted that this thing was really heavy.. and all the weight is at the working head. It makes it hard to hold off the ground, and it eats the strin like crazy... using it as an edger is a waste of time.. I had to stop every 3-4 feet and let out more string.. now I know that edging sidewalks and driveways can be hard on string... but this one is not like any that I have ever used. The handle is not long enough. Even with the guard inplace I was still getting hit with debris. It does not put the user far enough away from the work end of this thing. I'll be looking for a replacement soon.... and this one will be on a table in a yard sale.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Jul 08, 2009

The WORX product is alright, although the mower arrived with minor damage (poor packaging). The customer service is the worst I've ever dealt with.
After purchasing my WORX mower and grass trimmer through Amazon, I eventually needed to purchase more trimmer spools and opted for the "free" spools program (paying only shipping) offered directly from WORX customer service. In the same order, I also purchased a device from them that allows you to store the grass trimmer and it's battery on the wall of your garage.
After being charged as expected, two weeks past with no product. I contacted their customer service and was informed both products (spools and trimmer device) were on back-order but would ship in 24 to 48 hours. After another week passed, I called again and was transferred to a supervisor who sounded like he was reading from a script. He admitted the spools had not been on back-order but could not explain why I was lied to previously. He could not tell me when my order would ship saying that it was "in process". He then offered a to wave the shipping cost as though that would fix not being able to use my $100 WORX grass trimmer without the spools they sell. This supervisor then assured me he would forward my "case" to upper management and I would receive a call within the 72 business hours. It's been eight days and I've not received a call. It's been over 4 weeks since I placed the order.
Though it's for a small amount of money (less than $25), WORX customer service has essentially stolen my money and falsely advertised in selling me a product I can't obtain and they won't (or as this supervisor said to me, he "can't") tell me why!
I assume others are receiving the items they purchase from WORX. I have no idea why they can't solve my issue. I'm sincerely amazed at the incompetence and inability of this company's customer service and therefore highly recommend all consumers consider purchasing lawn products from one of WORX's competitors instead (try Black and Decker). If this is any example of how WORX is willing to do business then they deserve to go out of business. Buyer beware.

don't wast your money Jun 04, 2008

"stress free"
If you like replacing the trimmer line every five feet this trimmer is for you. I contacted customer service about this problem, they told me to contact Amazon. After telling the lady what I thought of there product, I cured my anger by smashing this POS against my garage wall. Best stress release ever

Waste Of Money Jun 07, 2010

This has to be the worse weed-eater I have ever bought! The line continues to break off and the so-called "auto-feed" does not work; give me "tap-n-go" any day!! You can't use bulk line and the 16 spools I bought only lasted about 10 feet then the last 6 feet shoots out and is wasted.
I will never buy anything for a TV ad again; I'll go to Walmart where I can get a refund or exchange without outrageous shipping charges!
DO NOT BUY WORX or you will regret it! I want my $100 back!!
update - 08/13/2010: I've tried two more new spools and the auto-feed will not work. Weed-eaters from the 80's were MUCH better and lasted for years.
update - 04/24/2011: I managed to get $20 for this piece of junk at a yard sale; I feel guilty stealing $20 from the buyer!
