this is an x-acto brand retractable razor, so the quality is top-notch, as you'd expect from the brand. however, you should note that the retractable button does NOT work like a ballpoint pen.
you click the top down to expose the blade and lock it into place, but you must push a smaller button on the side (located directly above the clip)to retract the blade. this actually helps prevent exposing the blade if it was in your shirt or pants pocket.
good quality, good product.

This a a great knife to use for detailed paper cuttings.
This is my second X-Acto X3209 9RX Push-Button Knife, the first one was given to me by my daughter as my birthday gift. I love it so much, and I always use it when I do paper cuttings. The reason I order this one is I want extra push-button knife keep one in the sharpest blade when I do the thick and detailed cutting, use the other one to keep the older blade to cut the thinner cuttings, :D. So I don't have to change the blade at any time when I do the different cuttings. Keep it handy.
It is easy use and safe to keep it in your purse like to carry a pen. I use it to cut about 8 layers on my paper cuttings. I use special paper-cutting rice paper from China. It is easy to change the new blade too.
